Description
Bigbadmattie is a 6 year old gelding by Big Bad Bob who was 3rd in a bumper on his only start. He is a half brother to Phoenix Way, a £270,000 purchase after winning his Point to Point who has gone one to win a novice hurdle and a Pertemps hurdle qualifier, achieving a rating of 140.
Bigbadmattie is 16.2 1/2hh and was a big raw horse as a 4 year old when he ran in a bumper. He looked the winner turning into the straight before tiring. He was weak and has been given time to strengthen and was in training to run before the Covid-19 outbreak.
The form of his race has worked out well with the winner Red Menace winning another bumper, a maiden hurdle and two chases, attaining a mark of 135 over fences. The second horse Roll Again won a maiden hurdle and has won a chase since moving to Venetia Williams and now sits on a mark of 137.
Bigbadmattie is a great National Hunt prospect for this season. He is a lovely chasing type who is a great mover. He is currently in riding and is open to any vetting.
